Louis Vuitton continues to be World’s Most Valuable Luxury Brand

Louis Vuitton does it again. After topping the list of the world’s most valuable luxury brands in 2011, the French bag makers are back to the zenith. In a survey conducted by Millward Brown Optimor, it was found that Louis Vuitton’s market worth stands at $25.9 billion. With the latest feat, Louis Vuitton, owned by the Paris based LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton, dons the title of most valuable luxury brand in the world for the seventh consecutive year. The second position went to Hermes whose current value of $19.1 billion surpasses previous year’s track record by 61 percent. Sonos SUB Wireless Subwoofer

You’re missing a noticeable blast from your wireless Sonos speakers, then look no further as the SUB will add the missing link to your free wireless music experience. The SUB’s bass reproduction unfurls a pretty astounishing bass due to two force-cancelling speakers positioned face-to-face, which almost nullifies occuring vibrations. A simple one-button set-up represents the only hurdle to finish a neat wireless home audio system. $700

Symbol Record Console

Vinyl made its comeback some time ago, but the record player has yet to catch up. Until now. The Symbol Record Console is a bench-made modern record player that pays homage to the all-in-one console hi-fis of the ’50s, but bests them with an incredibly clean, modern look. Features include solid American Walnut construction, a metal base, two 6.5-inch full-range speakers, a second, hidden amplifier and subwoofer, built-in Wi-Fi for streaming music from an iPhone, iPad, iPod, or computer, and a hand-built tube amplifier and turntable, which are set into patinated steel plates to lend the appropriate sense of style to the proceedings.

King Power Usain Bolt

Hublot King Power Usain Bolt

Hublot continues to make strong moves in the sports segment. Not only concentrating on the football and basketball, as well as F1 areas, they have now collaborated with the fastest man in the world, Usain Bolt and together they present the King Power Usain Bolt. In addition to the watch’s many references to the sprinter, it features an interesting hallmark: the strap is made from exactly the same leather as the shoes he wore when he broke the world records in Beijing in 2008.

Limited to 250 individually numbered pieces, the black ceramic watch will release soon.

Aston-Martin-DB4GT-Zagato-Sanction-II-Coupe-from-1991

Rare Aston Martin sells for £1.23m

Beautiful, isn’t it? The green Aston Martin DB4GT Zagato ‘Sanction II’
just sold at auction for £1.23 million.

Not the most astronomical sum judging by recent auction history, but this is a rather interesting buy. Because despite that distinguished sounding ‘Sanction II’ moniker, it is in fact, a replica. But a full, factory-approved replica. Continue reading

Gesture Controls Get a Huge Boost with New ‘Leap’ Interaction System

Technology is always chasing after science fiction. Star Trek communicators became the cell phones in our pockets, and the wireless in-ear headset Uhura wore eventually became the Bluetooth headset. And now the futuristic, gesture-driven computer interface portrayed in Minority Report is being tackled by today’s technology.

On Monday, Leap Motion introduced the Leap gesture-based computer interaction system. Similar to the Microsoft Kinect, the 3D motion-capturing device tracks an 8-cubic-foot area for movements, and recognizes the differences between fingers, thumbs and even pencils simultaneously.

The USB device is roughly the size of a pocket knife, and sits directly in front of a computer’s display. Leap Motion says on its site that the technology behind the Leap could be added to cars, medical devices, and lights.

According to Leap Motion, its gesture recognition is 200 times more accurate than anything else on the market, and can track movements down to 1/100th of a millimeter. Sorry Kinect. Continue reading

DeLorean Bicycle

The DeLorean Bicycle idea comes from a conversation between “good friends Stephen Wynne (Delorean Motor Company) and Marc Moore (Entrepreneur, Passionate Cyclist & Former Delorean Owner) about building possibly building a bicycle that could bear the DeLorean name, but do so without giving up anything to best bicycle manufacturers of today.”

The company will be producing three styles – the DeLorean Anyday, DeLorean Speed and DeLorean Cruise bikes. The DeLorean Anyday is the first to be released.

“the material to build the bike was an obvious choice; composed of columbus HINOXtube™ trafitubi XCr seamless triple-butted patented stainless steel tubes made in italy, maintaining the delorean connection. the ‘anyday’ has a clean running belt drive transmission which makes it easier to climb bigger hills or go faster on flat roads with the help of an integrated 11-speed internally geared hub that comes as standard equipment.

front and rear hydraulic disc brakes, whether in wet or dry conditions, make stopping power more than sufficient. standard equipment includes an 11-speed internally geared hub. the wheels are covered with an illuminescent coated which when under regular lighting looks dark, but when actually shone upon, they almost appear to ‘turn on’ making visibility in low light or at night better, along with making your late evening or early morning ride a lot safer. finally, an italian made gel saddle enhances one’s riding comfort, and a full carbon fork provides precise steering response, and has been constructed so that there is enough room for one to install larger treaded tires for dirt roads or path riding.”

All that of course also comes at a price – the DeLorean Anyday bike is priced at $ 5500
